Announced by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in June 2009 as a successor to the Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food (ACAAF) program, the Canadian Agricultural Adaptation Program (CAAP) is a five-year, $163 million national program aimed at helping the sector adapt and remain competitive. There are national, regional and multi-regional components of the program.

CAAP's objective is to assist the agriculture, agri-food and agri-based product sector's ability to seize opportunities, respond to new and emerging issues, as well as pathfind and pilot solutions to new and ongoing issues in order to help it adapt and remain competitive. CAAP is open to the agriculture, agri-food and bioproducts industry including producers and processors, their organizations, associations and cooperatives.

IAF delivers CAAP in British Columbia and has been allocated $6.2 million over the period 2009-2014. Applications are now being accepted. Projects funded through CAAP must be completed by December 31, 2013.
