Meat Transition Assistance Program (MTAP) provides $5 million to help BC’s new and existing slaughterhouses meet the standards under the BC Ministry of Health’s new meat inspection regulation.
Strategic Priorities
Funding is available for projects that address the following key activity areas:

Ensure there are sufficient provincially-licensed slaughter facilities in appropriate locations across BC by September 30, 2007 |

Increase livestock slaughter capacity in BC, and build a basis for expansion of capacity in the future |
